Golf Tournament

June 29 - June 30

Tournament Standings & Schedule

Our goal this year is to raise at least $29,000 for the Cape Jaycees Toybox Campaign. For over 75 years, this campaign has collected, donated, and delivered toys to thousands of children in Cape Girardeau at Christmas time. Last year, we provided for over 400 families!

Registration for the tournament includes a practice round during the week preceding the tournament (18 holes of golf, green fees, golf cart), breakfast and lunch on both days, beverages, and other great prizes. Prizes will be awarded for multiple teams in four flights, as well as hole competition events.

We are excited to offer a number of sponsorship opportunities for our annual event, and this tournament fills up fast. Please return the entry form along with your payment today to reserve your sponsorship and register your team. The Cape Jaycees are looking forward to a great event, and we look forward to seeing you on June

Rules

Download the Rules

USGA rules govern all play with local modifications.

  • Trade scorecards with your playing partners (i.e. Team A keeps score for Team B and vice versa).
Your group’s starting hole is listed on the scorecard.
  • Each team member hits a tee shot. Men will play from the White tees. Women will play from the Red tees. Select the best ball position and play your next shot within one club length of that position, no closer to the hole. If the shot selected is played from a hazard, bunker, rough, fairway or fringe of the green, the ball must be played from within one (1) club length of the shot selected and must remain in the hazard, bunker, rough, fairway, or fringe of the green. Repeat the “best position” selection process after each shot until the ball is holed out (i.e. no “gimmies”).
  • Once on the green, select your best ball position and play your next stroke within one putter head in length, no closer to the hole.
  • Mulligans: If purchased, mulligans may be used once per person, per day (i.e. one Saturday and one Sunday).
  • Balls going Out of Bounds must be replayed from the original place of play. A penalty stroke shall be added to the score for that hole.
  • A ball entering a Lateral Hazard (usually signified by a red stake) may be played from inside the hazard. However, a golfer may not ground his or her club within the hazard. Relief from the hazard may be obtained by dropping a ball within two club lengths, nearest the point of entry, no closer to the hole. A penalty stroke shall be added to the score for that hole if relief is taken.
  • A ball entering Ground Under Repair shall be entitled to a free drop within one club length of the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole.
  • Record your gross score on the scorecard. Saturday scores should be recorded on the top section of the scorecard. Sunday score will be recorded on the bottom section of the scorecard.
  • After the completion of your round, Sign your opponent’s scorecard (Scorer) and sign your team’s scorecard (Attest) and turn it in to the tournament registration table outside the clubhouse.

Tie breakers:

  • Ties for First Place in the Championship Flight will be resolved by a sudden death playoff beginning on hole #1.
  • Ties for Second and Third place in Championship Flight will be resolved by a scorecard playoff using pre-determined, random holes.
  • Ties for First, Second and Third Places in all other flights will be resolved by a scorecard playoff using pre-determined, random holes.

Contests (Saturday & Sunday AM & PM):

  • Hole #11 Longest Putt
  • Hole #8 Closest to the Pin
  • Hole #2 Longest Drive
  • Hole #6 $10,000 Hole In One

Bump Rule

If the difference between a team’s Saturday score and Sunday score, plus the difference between that team’s score and the flight leader (Saturday) is higher than the randomly selected “Bump” number (5-8), that team will be moved into the next highest flight (e.g. Team A shoots a 78 on Saturday, and is 3 strokes behind the leader in B Flight and shoots a 66 on Sunday [12 stroke difference – 3 strokes behind the leader = 9]. If the “bump” number is 8, Team A would be moved into the next highest flight [A Flight]). The bump number will be selected on Sunday following each round.
